Hiya Gents
After owning an r1100gs briefly a couple of years ago i decided that it was time to go the piggy route again.
Lots of research was done, lots of lurking on this forum and eventually found a Y2K BMW r1150gs. Rode it home today with the wife on the back. Everything seems OK bar a couple of scuffs. No service records, just a promise that the oil was changed every 5000km. Seems solid enough.
I am reasonably handy with bikes and have owned at least 5 airheads, a few triumphs and two Guzzi's over the years. The GS will compliment the R80 and a few other DR500's in the garage. And a lonely Royal Enfield GT Continental.
The reason i bought the pig virtually unseen is because i have the confidence of knowing that you guys are a passionate lot and by the threads and topics very experienced in repair and maintenance of the GS's. And of course very welcoming.
So let me join you in putting money in the 'Piggy Bank"
