Need straightening up. Passanger peg braket bent.
« on: January 07, 2020, 11:53:16 am »
Hi all. On a ride on sunday i came short and went for a bit of a slide in the mud. Managed to shear the bolts off the right passanger peg bracket.

Drilled out the bolts this morning and found that  the bracket also bent. the bolt holes dont match up anymore. Same goes for the Rumbux crash bar mounted at the same point.
Anyone in Pretoria area able to assist me in getting things to line up again? I don't have a vice or a shop where i can mess around to try and fix it myself.
I A new bracket will cost me a packet so would like to see if it is fixable first

Yes R2400 for that bracket from Honda. Mine was scraped but not bent, so just had it repainted at that price.

As I remember it is cast and not made out of tube so may crack if you bend it too much.

Where are my shorts??

Shortly after posting i found out the complex care taker here were i live has a bench vice.
The guy gratuitously gave me access. After some gentle harassment i got the bracket yo fit again thankfully doesnt look cracked.

The Rumbux bar was more of a mission. Ratchet straps and a moerse shifting spanner and lots of swearing later things are on again.

Little more character added to the right side but not something i intend concentrating on too much.
