2014 800 GS - need advise plse
« on: January 08, 2020, 09:57:39 am »
Hi all,
So my curent plan/idea is to keep my NC750X for all round riding - commuting, touring, basic off roading. However, I would need to spend about R9k to "pimp" it up with bash plate, wider footpegs and better tyres.

Spanner in the wheel:
Friend of mine want to sell his 2014 GS800 (10000km), with all extras, to me at a GOOD price - R89k
extra's: spots, Kappa alu top box, bash plate, Akrapovik exhaust, touring screen

What should I do??????
1. keep the NC which I paid R105k for last year, spend another R9k on it
2. sell NC and buy the GS for R89k?

I owned GS1200's in the past; really enjoys the NC from all rounder point of view; not familiar with GS800

Ask your friend if you can test the 800 for a day. :thumleft:

I went from the NC700 to the 800gs.

I haven't looked back yet.

800gs makes for a great commuter and then obviously I have it's offroad capabilities in the arsenal if need be  :thumleft:

Is this the regular F800GS?

I recently traded my trusty old KLR for a 2018 F800GS Trophy. So far so good, commuting every day (highways and byways) and trips over the weekend.

The 800 GSA is just too much of a fatty, you might as well go the whole hog and get a 1200/1250

Nee @Blackhawk , ek ry n 1150 GSA, ek weet hy is breed, ma daai 800GSA se breedte het my verbaas.

IMHO the F800GS opens up far more options for so many more reasons.... I'd rather go the route of selling the NC & get that GS.  :thumleft: ;)
