Ek voel vir die anti KTM brigade. Hulle sal nooit weet hoe lekker hierdie bike ry nie en dis jammer


Erger nog is die anti 790 brigade op hulle 990s

Ek sal graag jou mening wil kry van 790 vs 990 Noneking.
As jy dit reeds elders gedoen het op WD, ek vra verskoning, ek dit gemis :thumleft:

Ek weet dis ń baie touchy subject, maar vir my is die 790 beter in byna elke opsig. Die suspensie,remme en electronics staan vir my uit. Die 790 voel en hanteer soos ń fiets wat helfte soveel as ń 990 weeg.  990 was my eerste KTM en ek het dit baie geniet, maar hierdie fiets is next level!

Ek verstaan heeltemal dat die 990 ń cult following het. Dit was en is steeds ń great bike. Ek vergelyk dit maar met hoe ek voel oor my HP2 Enduro. Dis rofweg uit dieselfde era en vir my mooier en meer ikonies as ń nuwe 1250 GS Ralley, maar dit is nie noodwendig ń beter fiets nie.

Ek lag vir sommige argumente van die 990 brigade.  Daar word gesÍ die 790 is TE goed en laat onervare ryers bo hulle skill level ry. Of ń tipiese KTM argument - die 990 is makliker om aan te werk in die boendoes omdat dit minder electronics het.  Of my all time favourite - 990 is ontwerp om die Dakar te kompeteer en nou kan geen ander fiets ooit daarmee vergelyk word nie.

Maar niks klink darem  soos n 990 met lekker pype op nie!

En heel waarskynlik sal die 990 net `n groter  "following" he soos tyd aanloop, juis omdat die dae van zero electronics en groot kapasiteit bikes besig is om te verdwyn.

Hoe het ek nie al my vingertjies stompgetik op hierdie forum om net mense van daardie time-waste vet BMW's af te kry en motorfietse te ontdek....... :patch:

Probeer bietjie harder, glo nie ons het al jou beste gesien nie....

Wel, julle is meestal al van die BMW's af weg. :thumleft:

Nog net die "collector's item" verskoning wat n paar HP2 cruisers laat rondhang........ O0

I don't understand this "Electronics!!" fear.

A 990 has just as much electronics that can fail and stop the bike running as a 790.    Most of the more advanced stuff on a 790 will not stop the bike running if they fail. You'll get an error message and maybe some flashing lights etc, but the bike will still go.

Check out NERB1's video of "killing an 1190" or something like that on youtube.  He got water into the dash and electronics on an 1190. The speedo died, rev counter, every error possible flashing and going mad on the dash etc, but the bike kept starting and running.

Having your MTC or ABS fail will just mean you don't have ABS or MTC (which apparently some people would love!) It doesn't mean you're stranded.

Ek sien klaar my GSA gaan nou staan, en net 1 keer n jaar my jaarlikse 5 dae 3000km roundtrip doen dis al  :peepwall:

Ek het n 790 gery en stem 100% saam Noneking dis n great fiets, hanteer en voel so lig soos n 650 single maar met dubbel die krag. As hulle hom net mooier kon gemaak het ! Nog nooit n 990 gery maar twyfel hy sal vir Jan alleman so maklik ry soos n 790.

Sure it may keep running, but you just have so much more to worry about now, including repair cost.

Another very important point is that, once you are used to a ABS bike, it is outright dangerous for a "spoiled" rider to continue without this aid.

So, it's not as simple as just continue ridingwhen your ABS fails, or your TC, or in the case of some idiots, your satnav. >:D

So I jumped on the 990 SM, and approaching the robot start gearing down aggressively at high speed, just to lock up the rear wheel and almost loosing it  :imaposer:
