So last year visiting Norway, it became bucket list item no1 to tour Norway on an Adventure bike.
We are now planning the tour dv. early June this year.
2 Bikes, 3 people.

If there is any body that would like to give "usefull" :) advice or make reconmendations, it would be much appreciated.
If there is anybody interested in doing it, feel free to ask questions.

Just a quick scetch of our plans and thoughts at this stage:

1. Bike rental:

In Norway it seems impossible. We could only find Edelweiss tours which is guided, includes accomodation and 2 meals per day at almost R100k for 7 days for the 2 of us on 1 bike, oh and no gravel riding.
So we found a company in Hamburg, "Motorradvermietung Hamburg" that rents out big Adventure Bikes and seems very helpful and friendlyl. They also rent out full riding gear kit at just a tad under R2k for 2 weeks per rider. a GS1250 would cost us about R21k for 11 Days. (1289 Euro's) includes insurance with 1500Euro access and full set panniers , top box, gps and 2700kms free thereafter 45 e-cents per km.

2. Route: (We are not Museum or Architectural fans, don't mind the odd impressive bridge or building, but we love nature and enjoy breathtaking scenery
Wanted to do the North Western coast but too far to start from Hamburg for our time allowed. We settled at this stage for the following:
Day 1:
Hamburg to Hirtshals in Denmark where we will catch a ferry to Bergen overnight.(Not cheap but saves time and riding the same area twice)
Day 2:
Ferry and arrive midday in Bergen. Find accomodation or head towards Vossenvanger(Fjords and Mountains)
Day3
Flam and Sognjeford surrounds
Day 4
Wherever it takes us
Day 5
Will get directions and suggestions from the previous location
Day 6
Will get directions and suggestions from the previous location
Day 7
Will get directions and suggestions from the previous location
Day 8
Wherever to Oslo
Day 9
Oslo to Copenhagen
Day 10
Copenhagen to Hamburg

3.Accomodation:
June is a busy month but we don't want to book and be limited because of that. AirB&B at this stage as we go along ?.
Camping is not really an option as we don't want to take camping gear along, too bulky and propably not the right gear for Norway anyway.

4. Food
Norway is helluva expensive especially if someone serves you (I paid R950 for 2 hamburgers and 2 Pepsi's, I kid you not). Supermarkets is cheapest for food so we will use accomodation with food prep facilities where we can.

Hope we can all broaden our horizons a bit here.
