How to save yourself a bunch of time explaining stuff to a Dealer/Workshop/Macchy!
We often get calls - "my front shocks are leaking" and after a bunch of unnecessary questions, we find out that it is actually the front forks that the customer is referring to. It is a common Souff Africanism, calling forks shocks.
The tubes sticking out the front that the wheel is attached to as in the pic are the FORKS. Comprising of a stanchion and fork tube or slider.
The Strut and Spring supporting your back (or sometimes front in the case of a lot of BMW's) wheel is the SHOCK.
Ride safe and keep the shiny bits upside!
