Paid a whole lot more for mine at Wallmart last year, got 2. They were on closeout at $15 a piece but work a charm.

Keep all knives away from that first carbide blade portion

BTW the Opinel 8 came not so sharp to me. Thought it was a Stainless VS Carbon thing because my carbon blade was hellish sharp.

So i put the Opinel 8 on the ceramic sharpener and all i can say is the blade medic is bloody fantastic. The ceramic takes a little while to get it sharp but it gets there.

That Lansky blade medic is pretty awesome and it should be cheap.

There are three types of sharpening tasks you need to do.
1. edge profiling
2. edge touch up
3. stropping

One setup does not cater for all.
I use a Lansky with diamond stones for profiling, a Spyderco for maintaining an edge and a leather strop for making hair popping sharp

Ja Shark but you are a knife guy with expensive knives. Maybe Wooly just wants to sharpen his R50 kitchen knife. He needs to tell us.

Yes, indeed. Well, not quite R50 each. More like R67 each.
