Sharpening day!

Reprofiled the two CF Spydies, and sharpened the rest. Diamonds cut even CPM-M4 and K390 like butter. So much easier than the stock Edge Pro waterstones.

The only thing that is holding me back on pulling the trigger is the fact that it appears that you need to remove your knife from the clamp to turn it over?

That is what drew me to the Edge Pro years ago (after my frustrations with an old Lansky clamp-based system). The EP has no clamps that wiggle or move. That also means you can easily sharpen long blades like Chefs knives by sliding them along the platform. I've installed two optional neodymium magnets at the bottom of the platform, to hold a blade in place rather well.

Sorry I only saw now this is the EP. I looking at the cheaper Ganzo version. I actually bought a set of magnets a few years ago when I also looked at buying one of these systems. Maybe I should give it a go.  :thumleft:

My Spyderco Salts (rustproof models):

The Caribbean after a Rit dye job. Spydercos are in general not pretty, but those bumblebee stripes were just a bridge too far. Amazing knife though!

Nice

Question, where do you find your Rit dye and what process do you use?
Toying with the idea and busy researching.

Boonste een is S35VN, maar om eerlik te wees, vir my doeleindes(biltong & bokse) werk hulle maar dieselfde.

Nice, for the R1 is still the best value for money "work knife", it simply feels great in the hand and is built like a tank. Would be even better with some micarta scales.

When you guys say a work knife i never really understand the concept.

Surely if you are a carpenter you carry something like a carpet knife.
When you bushcraft you have a bushcraft knife.
Etc.

What do you guys use a D2 work knife for?

For me a pocket knife is for cutting braai packets, biltong, fruit etc.
I cringe when i have to cut cable ties with the PM2. Because its a really rough tool. Go get some side cutters you lazy bastard. Not even talking about the stabbing risk with the PM2.
I mostly carry the PM2 on walks in nature. I find it the perfect balance of scary self defense type tool and i had to cut some reeds once to free my dog because he was stuck. Other than that my PM2 is my fidget fun knife. For all food related things i use the CRK.
