My Pa was die oudste (A1jan), my jongste broer 2de oudste (A2jan), my seun die derde Adriaan (A3jan) en my broer se seun (A4jan).
Steak eet is soveel beter as 地 mes vlym skerp is.
My nuutste toevoeging is 地 slagmes.

Not sure but certainly a commemorative, from the period it may have been a decent manufacturer /supplier. More details from the blade markings please?

Anyway, I think it is Uber cool and if it's been in storage for a while and survived the way it has it is good quality. May not be worth much except to a collector but still something that is nice as an heirloom or as a daily side piece.

I like it. Some history there  ;D

DS, that example is the best I've seen. Known by some as the Fernando Essex 1952 Van Riebeeck Festival Pocket Knife.
Numerous companies bought and branded them for the festival in 1952 as company presents

I've owned a Glock Feldmesser for some time, but have long lusted after a genuine K-BAR US Marine fighting knife. I finally got hold of one not so long ago:
'69 Model.
