Like dit

:thumleft:

Some of the tools needed, with a grinder or two.  I even used the belt sander to help on certain curves.    My latest addition is a belt grinder made by a friend on this forum.    Sadly, since I got the belt grinder I did not have time to attempt another axe.   :patch:

I took a snap of the little axe my FIL  gave it to me a while ago. He had this forever and not sure where he got it from though I recall a story of him bringing back from Nam when he was on the border back in the day.

Most probs got it up north in the old Caprivi region.  They use it there often for all sort of tasks.  Was always looking for one and missed and opportunity to buy one, thinking I would get another one further on, no luck.  Eventually got a similar one in Botswana.

Another secret.  I like restoring old potjies.  Jy weet potjiekos potjies.  Maar net Falkirks. Gee hulle gewoonlik weg. Als so 3 gedoen.  Dis weer tyd.  Ek soek oues.

Ek hou daarvan

- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/461600.The_Nature_of_Things

:thumleft:

My thought were in that direction already, but don't know if it will be allowed.  The retirement part will however not work,     it is more a passion thing and in any case, the money you make from it barely covers your cost.

Mooi man Hardy - sal laaik om notes the exchange.

Jy bly mos daar naby Xhosa wereld. Daai madalas is koning met stick making. Gewoonlik met olienhout - wild olive. Hulle kerf oof daai diamond patrone.  Sal laaik van so hef op my byl?

Or does anyone else know where to find/buy these?
