Used to use a Lansky. Now a Warthog purely for ease of use.
May the best of your today be the worst of your tomorrow.

Stropping - Om skerp te hou, m.a.w. een keer 'n week se 3 minute lank strop

Seems one get 4 kinds

1.  Leather strops and rods
2. Lansky and Warthog like megafters - manual
3. Kitchen type pull through - manual and electric
4. Automated band driven stuff - various types, sizes wattage strengths

so which one is simple - can do a few different angles - doesnt take forever

Also - how do you know which angle you knife currently is?   what are the different angles - my wusthof knives comes from the factory at 17deg --- i believe working knives like folders and fix blade around 25deg?  true?

Sharpening had always been a frustrating chore I avoided if at all possible. It always seemed to leave the blade in a worse condition than before sharpening.

Enter the Mora Comapion with 12c27 steel and a Scandi grind into my life. Large simple bevel makes it easy not to mess up the sharpening angle, and the bevel face markings give you a good visual guide on sharpening progress and evenness.

Various stones and grits got whittled down to just the bare minimum - 320 grit good quality wet sandpaper and a leather strop paddle.
I made the strop from Kangaroo leather. It is very thin so the wood provides a solid backing. The leather has some Poly-steel Burnishing compound on - cheap, hardware store stuff.

I use the knife on some very hard wood at times so it needs frequent sharpening. It goes from slipping of a fingernail to catching hair above the skin in no time. I use both paper and strop on each sharpening but only pull strokes. I have had to stop testing for shaving sharpness against the skin because my hairy arms were starting to look stupid with all the bare patches.

Sharpening has become something to enjoy in itself. I even tried to sharpen a shard of abalone shell the other day. I thought the mother-of-pearl might yield an interesting "laminated" blade that somehow retains its cutting edge. Didn't work. It gave some wicked serrations though!

Sal die ding werk?

https://www.sharpedge.co.za/work-sharp-guided-field-sharpener

Hein, see if you can find a Blade Buddy. Best knife sharpening investment Iíve ever made.
I have a Warthog, Lansky, etc, etc, but if youíre really looking for  quick solution, nothing beats the Blade Buddy, especially if youíre processing a large quantity of meat, for instance and donít have a lot of time to spend on sharpening. The Blade Buddy, together with a high quality steel rod and a strop works exceptionally well.
You obviously have to take care to learn how to use it properly and to get skilled in sharpening at the correct angle. I use it on anything, from scissors, table knives, kitchen knives, folding pocket knives and even my Leathermans.
Even knives on which the cutting edge is really stuffed up, no problem.
