So I also got into knife making about a year ago. The photos are from my first knife. Knife 2 and 3 just got back from the Bohler heat treatment. I will post some pictures of the progress later.

My first knife is made from Bohler N690 stainless steel. Bohler also did the heat treatment. Lots of mistakes were made, which is why it took 8 months to finish, but am quite happy with the final product.

Let me know what you think.

The knife is based on a Japanese Kiridashi which is a single bevel blade. Just realised all the photos only show the non bevel side. This is the bevel side.

Beautiful knife Myrtle! When I first saw the metal cutout, I couldn't figure out what kind of knife this was to be. But the finished product has a lovely, balanced shape. Well done!

Very nice work Rossdog
I believe you will get many edc and cleaver orders from this group.
Is it my imagination or are you not too fond of jimping?

I don't mind it at all. I've made quite a few knives with jimping on the spines. It's an easy way to stuff upma nice blade if you get it wrong though. Also it only suits the more modern designs (IMO).

Had to Google jimping.... I've done it myself... :lamer:
May the bridges I burn light the way...
