Saved this.....
« on: February 13, 2020, 10:46:27 am »
Was visiting a family member down on the South Coast over December while on vacation nearby and spotted a bit of frame sticking out of a pile of yard trash that was due to be disposed of... looked closer and turned out to be a frame off one of these.... Seems he got it way back when from a friend of a friend and had plans for it, but as life happens these fade and eventually the plans got canned and it ended up in the way..seems nobody else wanted it :o

So loaded it into the caravan on way back and now resides with me to survive another day.... must be getting scarce as I see parts are virtually unobtainable now....

Riding buddy of mine has a complete one. Papers the works.

He just need to do the wiring still. Also red and white. Been busy with it for 2 years now.

RD/RZ350 LC2.

That frame would be worth quite a bit, they are hard to find now.

Now you have no excuse not to build up your own 350 legend.

When you say frame....is it frame only, or including swingarm, forks rear suspension etc?

I am currently busy with a restoration of a 83 RD 350 LC Ypvs.

Many previous owners cut off main stand mount to make place for some aftermarket exhausts ....which was the fate mine suffered. Pisses me off no end as i have both the original centre stand and exhausts.

So......if you ever consider selling it, give me a shout

Same here....scarce numbers matching bike with papers and on the road that has kept me busy for the last two years. Tomorrow is D-day where i add all the fluids and see if it starts. Nervous as hell as it is a complete nut and bolt restoration.

Pity - you JUST missed a chap who donated pretty much everything you needed, to a chap in Panorama, Cape Town who will now put HIS RD350 together.

Everything from a RD350 will fit into a RZ 350, the only diff I think was the colour, and that the RZ came after the RD, otherwise Identical...

the RD350F (full fairing, that had some different parts on it).

Maybe check out this Facebook page; the club has over 50 RD (& RZ?) members, and then other 2-stoke bikes, etc: https://www.facebook.com/groups/57499691128/
