When I did national service a one-liner corporal drove a G5 cannon's barrel through a bungelow wall. In another incident a captain loaded the wrong charge in a G6 and fired a projectile 30+km further than planned into a famer's property outside Potch.

Then there was the time some guys took a Ratel for a joy ride and got stuck. Got another Ratel which also got stuck...

Thousands of jokes to be told but luckily social media was not there back then...  :pot:

Maybe this driver grab too much throttle.  :ricky:

by 'n demo op de Brug gesien hoe 'n Rooikat flattaps oor die axle twister gaan en voorste control arms afbreek, wiele flap flap in die wind maar hy ry voort  :imaposer:

on 30 ton teen spoed te draai of stop moet 'n storie wees

Wat vir my opvallend was, was die gebrek aan algemene disipline onder die toeskouers. Die wÍreld oor vertoon soldate gewoonlik 'n hoŽ mate van netheid en selfbeheersing.

Exactly, that was also the first thing I noticed.  A bunch of rabble spectators, wolf whistling and screeching.  Normally spectators to these events would be of the higher ranks too, so it does make one wonder

Self 'n paar windgatte in my tyd gesien... en my broer het 'n kakhuis vol stories van sy tyd by 61... ek dink daar is nog ratelspore te sien op Etosha... :biggrin:
