I greet yes.

Delivery guys don't.

I think the non-lifestyle motorcyclists dont know the ritual.

Ah, explains the GS/BM brigade who never bother to greet back then.... :lol8: :peepwall:

I ride every day  . But every day i ride a different bike so it doesent matter to me if what you are riding  , i nod my head and usualy get a responce  . Down here in the Cape we use the 'head nod' a lot as we have corners  ,,,,  i know that's difficult to understand in Gauteng  , but here we have corners as part of the commute  , We dont have to go to Hartebeest to find corners  .
So just nod our helmets and most guys on bikes greet back ,from Harleys and delivery scooters and KTM , to Sportbike riders and comuters on F650 that ride every day but still greet .

Ive just arrived in Cape Town on the bike (from GP)

Every single biker waved on the way down.
As I came into CT from Gordonís bay side I had two guys on GSís pull up next to me give me the thumbs up and rode with me until they had to turn off from my route - near CT international airport (sorry I donít know the hiway names). As Iím from GP I was wondering if they were going to hijack me! (Just kidding)
Had another guy as I was turning towards Belllvile catch up to me, slow down give me the thumbs up, did a little inspection then turned towards Brackenfell (excuse spelling) and sped off with his left hand in the air.

Anyway, great welcome to CT. Thank you if you read this.

Lol@Manic

Those guys made the last 30 or 40kms very cool.
My first attempt of a video of the ride. Will adjust the camera. Unfortunately battery was flat by the time I got to CT.

I head hod every biker.
Most return the greeting when I am riding a BM.
Other's think greeting a Vespa rider is beneath them.
I'll still greet them.
They don't know what they are missing.  :ricky:

I greet bikes, but not always scooters... :P. There is a certain bunch who seem very self focused, generally don't wear gloves or jackets and are happy in flipflops

I ride between Blouberg & Century City everyday. No one flippen greets. In GP everyone and their auntie greeted me. Okes don't even say thanks to cars for making space for them.

Must be a west coast thing. Ride mostly the hell run from Strand to Cape Town weekly. and about 90% greet. The others mostly dodging tannies texting in their cars.
