A Bashful Report
« on: November 09, 2008, 04:03:21 pm »
We got home at 2 o'clock and I am typing with my notebook on my lap in bed.  I am FINISHED!!!

I was great.

Lesotho was an experience...

Ramabanta was a lovely spot.  There is this pass that you can see from the Trading Post.  It is making Sani look like a sissie ride.  It is called Baboons pass.  I could hear it being discussed in length.  I suspect that it might become the next "Koos se Klim".

Bad thing about Lesotho.  No cold beer.  They just dust it off and hand it over.  It was amusing to see how they guard the bottles.

I have not been so scared for a long time.  Doing a bit of the Roof in a Pathfinder .....  EISH ..... Sharkie got stuck in the mud so badly that the bike was standing on its own.  It had to be dragged out with a rope.

Canjora in the car is very entertaining..... "Look, two car wrecks" . . . . "Look that wreck still have its wheels on, must be fresh!"

The site of the Bash was lovely.  Hopefully someone post pics that will do it justice.  Sorry still can't.  No camera and no bonus.  I am working for a distribution company.  Nuff said.

We had a casualty which stubbornly decided to ride home with a broken ankle.  I really hope he get home safely.

Near Marquard we found Pom and WHS with some bike trouble. Hope you guys will be home before dark.

Now waiting for pics..... :mwink: :mwink:

CrazyPorra, I hope you are busy downloading a bucket full of pics.

Waiting... Waiting .....

From the previous posts I‚??m glad to see I‚??m not the only one who is wasted. Hell it was fun. We went to the Bash on Friday, KiLRoy, Welsh and myself, met up with HentieBM and DeonDJ in Ladybrand, got to Wepener, had a few cold ones at the Ford Laser hotel and arrived at the bash spot around 2:30 pm. We kuiered, got motherlessly, and rode home today. Was back here at 12:15, enough time to register to vote. Now battling the urge to go and sleep.

Here‚??s a few of my pics ‚?? too laze to type out a full report.

Somewhere in the freestate

More somewhere in the freestate

Did I mention that we had lotsa rain on Friday morning? Here‚??s Welsh doing some water crossing

With the rain there was little to no dust ‚?? roads were fairly smooth ‚?? great riding:

DeonDj passing a bridge somewhere in the freetate

In Wepener we met with Willem and Frits at the Ford Laser hotel

While Welsh was enjoying a few zamalecks

Hentie and DeonDJ also enjoying a cold one

Some parts of the freestate had nice rains

While other sections was very dry- lotsa dust

KiLRoy marking the spot

Saturday morning early between 5 and 6 am view of the campsite:

Lotsa Dogs down there somewhere

Ganjora and Kie having a beer at 5am Sat morning.

Upstream view of the area

Somebody was braaiing the farmers cattle ‚?? apparently a big problem so close to Lesotho. This braai spot was well hidden ontop of a koppie,

The rapids from up close

By 10 am most were talking k@k quite easily: Groenie practicing for major k@k praat

Welsh delivering beer to the hooligans on da adder side

While the crowd on this side cheered him on

The freestate‚??s very own Clifton: Dawgs having fun.

Our esteemed leader on Sunday morning ‚?? managed to twist himself 180% inside his shirt

Willems‚?? laaitie, Frits rode all the way on this Gomoto: RESPECT

Yes OK Lucky Striker, you also earned my respect riding a DRZ400 all the way from Cape Town. I was so impressed I never took a pic

Thanks to all who organised. It was awesum. To those who missed it, Jammer om van julle k@k te hoor.  :mwink:

Grey Haired Riders Don't get that way from pure luck!
