What a Bash!!!

Firstly,  a huge thank you to Stephan and Red.   I injured my leg last Sunday,  and they were kind enough to fetch me,  cart me around the whole weekend,  and then deliver me to my doorstep.   Not only that,  they tolerated my bad habits (smoking and drinking and talking nonsence).   Thanks again...

I got a lift with my neighbour to Groenie's house on wed pm,  just in time to have a beer with Groenie and DeepBass9,  and to watch them hit the road.   Man,  i was jealous....

Stephan and Red came to fetch me the next morning,  and that's when my Bash really started...   It didn't feel great going to a bike gathering in a Pathfinder,  but at least i'd be there...

Pom checking in!
WHS and I got home in one piece, despite the breakdown, we managed to get the bike running and nursed it home.

Thanks to Red & Stephan for the use of the tow rope

Thursday got us to Ramabanta.   We met up with shark_za & Plotties group at the Trading Post.   Much beer was consumed,  and a good kak praat session.

Slept like the dead.

In the morning some fo the guys did roadside repairs before we hit the scenic route suggested by shark.   An entertaining road to say the least.   shark got himself nicely stuck in the mud,  and man power got the KLR out.   My black arse suffered.   My knee wailed too.   After some border post amusement (overly zealous policemen) we cruised the rest of the way to the Bash.   Set up tent and started drinking beer...

Also made it home safe and sound - albeit quite sunburnt.  And my body is taking shots after all the beer  ::)

What a fantastic weekend though.  Kilroy, and all others involved, thanks for organising a great event, was lekker to put some new faces to forum names, amazing bunch of people there over the weekend.  And then a special thanks to shark_za for getting me there and back safely, the trip through Lesotho was spectacular! :thumright:  And thanks to José for the spare tube, where can I deliver the beer?  :mwink:

I'll post some pics in the morning, just too tired now.  :bueller:

The three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40 and a hammer.  If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.  If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.  Otherwise use the hammer.
