Originally, South Africa were only going to get 9, but KTM SA convinced Austria to allocate more to South Africa. Now I believe the number is around 30.
There will be two production runs. The ETA for arrival with KTM SA for the two batches are, 18th March and 8th April.

For Touring Dirt Highway/Tar roads, the Triumph Tiger 1200, I love that triple motor and the comfort of the Triumph. Currently I ride a Sprint 1050ST and a 1215 Trophy, the motor is addictive and the bike as a whole always makes me look twice when walking away.
I am selling my Sprint 1050ST and have hesitated for months to list on the For Sale site because it is such a great bike.

The KTM 790R, well if I have to explain, you won't understand anyways .
I love my 950S, but must admit that the 790 is a great bike on which the actual and perceived weight, differs greatly. It is an easy bike to ride and manoeuvre, feels really light and agile compared to my 950, But it will be in addition to my 950S, not in place of

If I look at the advancement from my current 2015 800xcx Tiger (which I love) to the new rally Tiger 900 Pro it is quite an advancement in every respect.  More power, less weight, tubeless tyres, complete package of accessories, stronger lighter frame with bolt on sections, very tempting.   Only problem is there is no Triumph dealer in Cape Town.   The lack of adequate sales and after sales service in Cape Town means I will not trade up and so good is my current bike that there is no drive to change brands, well a 1290R would be nice but I don't have the money, nor the talent and given the choice would probably stick with the Triumph.  It just is a quality piece of soul.

Ha ha, even if I had the budget for a Bentley this would never be an option. I do like the new Triumph 900 a lot but still very happy with the 990R

Having not ridden any of them, so voting on account of what I've seen heard and my own wanting factor.
Probably the 900 Triumph tiger and the 1250GSA.

Although I had a love hate relationship with my first M.Y. KTM1290SAR, I still think it's the most fun adventure bike I've ever mounted, so it got my vote.  The bike will do things the 1250GSA would fall apart trying to do, e.g. rocky climbs in Ouray or Telluride.

Although I've not seen one or ridden one, the T7 has me all hot n bothered.  Will its engine be as fun as a 790R?  No.  But the 790R will be a long term piece of monkey shit compared to the Tuning Fork T7.

Now, if you asked me which bike I'd trust most to take me to Prudhoe Bay and back, it most certainly would not be an English, German or Austrian engineered motorbike, I would most trust either of the Japanese bikes far more.  I'd trust a Harley Davidson to get me to Prudhoe Bay and back before I would an over-engineered piece of monkey shit BavarianMoterenDuzentWerke, Triumphofbreakdowns, or KronriefTrunkenpolzMattiJunkKing.

I wanted to vote, but gosh! there is only heavy bikes on the list?

Imo a "light" bike is a 701/690, and anything over 180kg is a offroad Goldwing.
