I would love my first ever bike back. Only for sentimental reasons.  My ticket to freedom when I was 16.

Suzuki RG 50 gamma. 1984 I think.
I loved that bike.

I agree. I had the MBX 50. Ticket to freedom. Man i loved that feeling waking up in the morning and knowing you could ride.

So they break the hearts of kith and kin, And they roam the world at will.
They range the field and they rove the flood, And they climb the mountain's crest; Theirs is the curse of the gypsy blood, And they don't know how to rest.                                                   Robert Service

I had the 550 version. Probably falls into "my favourite bike" category. It was also my first ever bike. Went down the road quite a few times - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

My '84 RD350 YPVS.....sold it in a moment of 'confusion'....getting div from my starter-wife clouded my better judgement, BUT having said that, it was maybe for the better because everytime I swung a leg over that bike I was on the edge. The breakfast runs in CT in those days were....errr...good fun. There were three of us on those bikes who took delight in running away from all the Katana's , 1100RC's  etc etc on the Bakoven road, Chappies, Ou Kaaps...it was bad.

But what a bike!!!

IT200. I threw everything and the kitchen sink at that bike and it always came up smiling. One particular incident stands out, at the Elands Valley National in (I think) 85, cruising up a wet snotty hill climb  past many stranded riders next to their (often much bigger cc)  bikes and the look on their faces as we went by. Priceless. The kind of bike you could ride on the limit when you were fresh, but also it could drag you home when you were trashed.

I don't know how you managed that , I have been looking for one for probably 10 years, all I managed to find was one or 2 that looked like they were ready for a graveyard. Eventually gave up and moved onto other projects.

I've never sold a bike I regretted selling, they were all terrible bikes I should never have bought in the 1st place, the worst was a BMW 100R, that bike was so kak it belonged back in 1970.

At 17 I convinced my Dad this was only a 250, minor step up from my 50, OH BOY what a blast I had with it

I was also lucky, my dad said there is no way he is buying me a "piskriek" so bought me a RZ 125 instead.

I liked that thing more than i did my goose. Rode it a hell of a lot more too

Still dream to this day of energy induction and the fun we had together.

It is shit getting old
