I haven't posted any reports in many years. Mainly because for me it is a pain in the butt to post pictures. With Namibia being so pretty after recent good rain, I cannot not share some of the pictures I got on this trip. You will see a KTM in most pictures. Yes I like my bike and I like having something in the foreground. I had no bikini girls to pose, so the KTM had to stand in every time.

Ek is ook 'n afrikaans seun, so die engelse vriende, as julle plek plek nie verstaan nie, geniet net die prentjies :thumleft:

Day 1:
I left Pretoria in Saturday 22 Feb at 6 am, destination Molopo Kalahari Lodge. I encountered the first rain just after Tarlton. Being a bit lazy to put on rain suit, I had to endure a bit of cold for a while.
About 50km before Vryburg I had to urgently putt on rain kit as a huge storm was ahead. Ended up riding in solid rain up to Kuruman.
At Kuruman I checked with M0lt3n about the condition of the dirt roads in the area around Kathu. The rain I encountered from Vryburg went through that area during the night. M0lt3n said that the roads would be pretty wet, but the surface is normally not that slippery. With decent tyres it should not be a problem. Had to focus in certain places but everything was ride-able. I saw Rhino, Zebra, Girrafe, Kudu, Wildebeest, Ostrich, Rooibok, Vlakvark, Steenbok and Likewaan along the route. The sandy sections were smooth and traction fantastic after the rain.
At Gemsbok Hotel in Van Zyls I stopped for two glasses of cold water and 2 glasses of Tafel Lager. Saturday afternoon the locals were watching rugby in the pub. Left there after 3 pm for the last 170 odd km dirt to Askam and Molopo.
I booked in at Molopo Kalahari Lodge, pitched my tent, made a nice Kameeldoring hout fire and braaied vacuum packed sirloin and wors from Toits Slaghuis in Centurion with a bottle of Merlot while enjoying some background Leonard Cohen on the Flip 4.
The riding to Kuruman was enjoyable, the riding to Molopo was great. Below some pictures of the day.

Camping at Molopo was R150 pp and included good morning coffee. Paid R35 for kameeldoring wood and enjoyed every sent of it.
