Its a lot more compact than one would think being a harley. Wife insists on a sissy bar now.

Its unlike any other bike i have ever ridden, its engaging and enjoyable and i guess thats why we ride bikes. Also unlikely to lose my licence on the harley .
very sweet looking ride i like the looks ..sissy bar would really eff it

Mooi

My wife will no longer come on the harley till i get a sissy bar....which is fair i guess.

I also bought a tool roll for my harley...now i reckon i look like a cowboy with my leather tool roll riding around the suburbs..increases ones coolness factor immeasurably for relatively little money
tool roll on front works as a wind deflector.... indian larry my mentor always said ..form follows function

I hear you but SWMBO insisted so sissy bar was a must.

i dont know about you but there is something nice about the same bikes hanging out together

its always been a beautiful sight to me

a few examples i have..........

whats nice is to see how each person individualises their bikes

this happens a lot in the harley world

there are tons of add ons and customising options

i took harleys electric bike for a spin not so long ago

it was freakishly fast.......just twist open the throttle and u are gone.........some thing like 0 to 100 km in 3 seconds      it was unbelievable and smooth

very expensive for a 200km range hear its about 300k plus

no noise just a slight throbbing sound

it took a bit getting used to with no gears and no clutch

also its a small motorcycle way too small for me.........

hear things like they wont be for sales here in SA more just to promote

anyway im still more the petrol head
\
as long as theres oil i wont go electric..big thing about it though is running costs..brakepads n tyres ..seems not much else till battery croaks

My 2003 Deuce, what a Pleasure.

Eendag as ek groot is.  Bliksem, dis mooi daai!

on the subject of harley killed itself

some info and rumblings about the local market

all three the  dealerships Sandton , ClearWater and Pretoria Lynwwod road are closing /closed......

apparently a deal struck with Gold Rand Harley and there will be just one big Dealership around Midrand area in the future......will be interesting to see what this is

the owners of GoldRand and Cape Town Centre are one and the same......looks like they are heading for one owner is going to own the majority of dealerships in the country and this is the Indian fella from Springs who currently owns Cape Town Dealership

also hear the same dude has made a bid for Tygervalley

Harley SA is in for some interesting times

Apparently Harley's rule that you may own no more than 3 dealerships.
If this is true, the Indian fellow from Springs can only buy/open1 more.

I was hoping Fire It Up! would look at taking over the franchise for Jhb.
There is still that big dealership in Alberton though , so all is not lost.

so not mention of Indian? Are they not supposed to sell better than Harley? Some reviews had it that the Indians offered better value, but I cant remember when last I saw an Indian.
Getting very off topic, but seems like they are doing more right, but not prgressing

Attended the last Indian test day at Melrose Arch. Nice machines. Very expensive. Rode the Scout and one of the Baggers. Was very impressed. Since I'm a poor gat I buy second hand so not many available for me. Lots more HD's available second hand.

yip if the indian fellow from springs buys up the closing 3 in gauteng and consolidates his gold rand into one ie
one big Gauteng dealership

and his Cape Town one swallows up Tygervalley

he will indeed have just Two in the major centres of SA

Bloem seems to be ticking by......not sure who owns this one.....definitely not the springs fella

ROC harley is owned by youngsters who own KTM in Alberton......not sure of that detail

Durban currently owned by Tygervalley but no fireworks happening there

things could get interesting in SA Harley world
