Buying a G450X
« on: March 05, 2020, 01:24:53 pm »
Howdy dogs

I'm finally looking into getting myself a G450X.

I see from the interwebs that they range from 22-35k, some crazy people expecting to get 49k!

Now in ZA, when they were sold new, did they come with two pipes or not? One silent one, and one akro?

What price do I need to look for, for a good deal? And can I haggle about the price if the akro is not fitted?

Ideally I want to pay 25k for a road legal one, worst case 30k for one in a very good condition.

What say the G 450 Xperts ?

R25k is about right for a nice one. Essentially they are "old" dirtbikes

There were 2 different G450X's - pre-2010 and the 2010 - the difference is slight, the main visual is the 2010 has gold coloured forks - the pre-2010 have black forks.
The one to have is the 2010, the front and rear suspension is a slight upgrade, the gear ratio's are apparently better and there is one or 2 minor differences in the motor, fork offset, subframe, seat.....

HOWEVER....

I have been looking for a 2010 for 2 years and am yet to find one for sale - in fact, the only one I know is @zebra - Flying Brick  - Chris.......

So get a 2008/9 and have a load of fun - one day I will get one as well!!

Lemme know when you want to sell, would be a sad day for you, and a great one for me, maybe...

I'd rather buy from a fellow dog, than a stranger.
