Steering stabilizer
« on: March 12, 2020, 08:19:34 am »
Hi everyone

I got my new scoot yesterday. A 2014 1200 gs. Absolutely love the bike. I tried searching the forums but cannot find anything. Is it possible to adjust the stock stabilizer? Had a Scott on my 800 and there you could adjust the resistance of the damper.
Thanks

Canít be adjusted. Unfortunately.  But it works Ďokayí as is. Iíve not been tempted to fit an after market damper on the GS.

I fitted the Hyperpro Steering Damper, it has 22 click settings. I would reckon, just by feel and pumping the pistons on both, that the OEM damper is around the same as setting 10 on the Hyperpro, so it has about 12 stiffer settings. I ride mine at around 15 clicks.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe it is just getting use to it. I normally rode mine on the softest setting on the 800, so this one feels stiff.
