Navigator 5 not accurate
« on: March 22, 2020, 09:39:25 am »
I set the navigator to a particular place which I know should be about 3 hrs according to my iPhone on Google maps. However, the navigator shows 6 hrs to destination. Itís set on fastest route. Using T4A. Help please.

It's a Garmin inside, notoriously user-fiendly and not too accurate, if ever you'll use a TomTom you will find out.
Also it may take the recent history for average speed, so if this was slow going then this may explain it.
Reset it if possible but otherwise just go, a GPS is after all an aid but leaves YOU in control, better regard it as such!

So many things could be causing this, as for one most GPS routing software averages your speed on dirt roads very low and when you are on route, you notice the eta time diminishing quickly

Most of the time I plan my route on Mapsource or Basecamp and then upload to device. The deviceís/maps own navigation does not give confidence to use.

It's because it's a Garmin. Mine even once told me we're going to take 30 days or thereabouts to take the canal routes to Beestekraal. Garmin = piece of shit.

I have never had this problem with my garmin. I will compare it to Google maps.
