Probeer 'n girl impress

So I was reading through a few old posts thisw eekend and it's sad to see how many of the "old" members that always posted here, have become either lurkers or just quietly faded away.

@Kerritz
@volroom
@Road Hog
@Draad
@Ratt
@Poffmuis (emigrated)
@BlueBull2007 (here now and then)
@Difflock
@Draadwerk
@Lord Knormoer

Plenty of others too.  Emigration and economic hard times have certainly taken their toll.  Maybe too much forum bickering and bitchiness?  I don't know but I miss some of the guys.

I feel left out  :imaposer:

Ons het jou net verlang toe jy daai LoveBoat toer gaan doen het eilande toe.  Ons het nie eens 'n poskaartjie of T-hemp uit daai petalje uit gekry nie.  Nie eens 'n blerrie brakpakkie nie.

Hoe moet ons nou voel? Weggesmyt, verwaarloos, vergete.  Ons het ook 'n binneste OK.  :'( :'( :'( :'(

@Badger

Daar is eintlik bitter baie ouens as mens eers beginne terugdink.

Most of those mentioned were intelligent people who contributed sense to the forum. I suppose it got tiring all the time to search for sensible threads to participate in. As its going at the moment.

This.

Now and then I am here. Hey Dorsland! :wave:

I'm still riding though! :ricky: EXC 350 in the mountains of Honduras.

I have thought about to posting a RR on Honduras, but I dunno if anyone reads those anymore. ::)

And tomorrow I am buying a 990 in Peru. Plan to do some DS riding there again soon.  :deal:

I'm spending more time on advrider as the freds here seem to be one man's mission to dominate every discussion. Do put out some RRs to keep us interested. :thumleft:

Hi Dorsland and all....

Am around, on and off. Didn't know I am an "old faithful"... :patch: :biggrin:

Just jobwise been busy with setting myself up for general tourism as my client base is not big enough to carry me financially. At present this does not seem to have been the wisest decision, as my income died in March, totally. For how many months, I have no idea. So I am plotting what to do next. Still got some fires burning, but no reason to crack open any champagne. Toured a fair bit the last two years, mainly general tourism, once on the road, I don't come here often. Been to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe about 10 times and did about 10 SA tours in that period and hope, it will pick up again. No regrets that I went that route, beats sitting in the office any time. Now I have to see, what to do the next couple of months until such time, when the business picks up again, and it will, I am sure of that. Will probably teach some people how to ride bikes (on the road) from beginners to advanced and once I am allowed again, will probably go for a camping trip, wherever the nose leads......

Back to the subject, people come and go, that's forums, besides, many went for other social media etc., so forums in general took a knock in terms of participation. I'll hang around, for what it's worth. I always find something interesting, either just to read or to comment....

Hang in there chaps and female chaps, better times to come! :ricky:

Things will pick up after this, in fact, as it is after traumatic events, people will come back with new zest, and want to make the most.
