"I love to travel for so many reasons. There is nothing like getting on your bike and seeing the beauty of a new place for the first time. Sometimes , the outer is overwhelming and I have to stand still and let time stop to try to take it all in at once. Sometimes, the beauty is less aesthetics and more about that first conversation with a local when I am pleasantly overwhelmed by their openness and rich culture.  It can be startling to realize that I do not know a single person for kilometres and kilometres, but I think that’s part of what keeps it exciting. I feel the most alive when I am exploring new places and new things." Unknown

Over the past 8 years I have travelled many places and have met many people, some good and some not so good. But all these travels, places  and people, good or bad left everlasting memories that I will not swap for anything in the world. And all of that makes it even more special if you doing this on your bike with your best mates right behind you.  We have had some really awesome bike trips with awesome memories over the past few years.

With this house arrest stuff going on, it gave me some time to finish some of our bike trip video’s for the last few years. We were actually now supposed to be on our Malawi trip but then came this ‘Corona’ thing. So the best next thing was to complete the last few bike trip video’s.

So for all you dogs out there that can’t wait to get back in the saddle, here is some video’s of my longer trips. Hope you enjoy.

In 2012 we did a trip around SA mainly down the West Coast to the Hell and back. Went down the West Coast to Cape Town, then along the coast to Cape Agulhas. From there on the R62 to Ronnies Sex shop, Seweweekspoort pass, the Hell up to PE and back to Jhb. Here is the link to that video.

In 2014 we did a trip to the Tankwa karoo, but that one only lasted for a few days due to me forgetting to disengage my ABS and moving some boulders out of the way....Needless to say, not enough footage to compile a video.

In 2015 we did the Not So Long Way Around Tour. Visit places like Williston Mall, Clavinia, Clanwilliam, Robertson, Montagu, Malgas pond, Seven Passes Road, Prins Alfred Pass, Angies G-spot , New Bethesda and back to Jhb. Here is the video link of that trip.

In 2016 we did a trip through Botswana to Namibia. Plan was to go down along the coast from Swakopmund to Solitaire onwards to Luderitz and then back but one of the guys crashed on our way to Solitaire, so we had to alter our route straight back to Windhoek to get him to hospital. From there we went down to Keetmanshoop on to Canon Roadhouse, the Fish River Canyon and back to SA. Here is the link to that trip.

In 2017 we did the great passes tour where we rode the Sani Pass,  Baviaanskloof , Swartberg and the Hell. – Best one of all the trips in my view. Here is the link.

In 2019 we did one Around Lesotho, was wet and cold all the way up to Naudesnek.  From there dry down to Rhodes. That night the heavens open and we decided to give Lundeans Neck a miss, a decision I regret. Luckily did that part during a trip around Lesotho in 2011. Here is the link
