Assistance needed from the professionals
« on: May 09, 2020, 09:23:27 am »
A friend is in the market for a new bike that will be used for commuting and trips up to 14 days(60 to 70% off road)

He looked at the following bikes:
Honda Africa Twin 2019 model
BMW 850                2019 model
Truimph xcx            2019 model
Husqvarna               2020 model
KTM 790 S               2019 model (R to expensive)

Sal waardeer word indien manne met ondervinging tov bovermelde bikes inligting sal gee.
Indien u ander voorstelle het sal dit waardeer word.
Should one rather wait for the 800 Aftica Twin and 900 Husky?

If he could, perhaps wait for Yamaha's T700 Tenere?

This bike is getting excellent "Joe average" reviews, and the engine whether in this or the roadbike, is a jewel beyond comparison really.

Dan, really now, your sense of humour doesn't end eh?

He doesn't want the bike for his grandson.  :ricky:

Though his grandson can inherit it, being a built-to-last Yamaha. :thumleft:

:imaposer: Seriously though, his friend seems to be willing to wait for the 800 AT, and the T7 will be here before that.

My choice would be either the Honda or BMW. I own a Honda CRF1000 and have also ridden the BMW. Both good bikes and have a good service infrastructure in SA.
Triumph also good bikes, but they have lost the plot completely with regard to sales and service in SA.
KTM would not be my choice as a commute
