Important Notice
Regrettably due to the Covid19 uncertainties we will be moving the 5th Official Tankwa Cross Country Rally event into 2021. A suitable date will advised once we have more clarity.
It is a very hard call, however Tankwa XC Rally is a Brand and we don’t want to dilute the event with a half-hearted event due to all the Covid 19 uncertainties.
Some of our reasoning:
a) It is likely the height of the pandemic will still have many effects for some months to come.
b) People and companies are cash strapped coming out of this lockdown and it will be financially difficult for many to be away for at least four days which is likely to result in a decline of entries.
c) The covid Provincial and International cross border travel restrictions would also affect many competitors.
d) We have been in discussion with our current Sponsors who have indicated their support to roll their sponsorship into 2021. We are very grateful to our main sponsors who have already endured substantial costs for tracks, routes and local upliftment.
e) We still hope keep the Sept dates 18-20 Sept 2020 as a training and orientation weekend. This so people can still enjoy Tankwa, get some Tankwa ride time and experience. We hope to announce more details soon.
