At the Algeria Camp site, take the right fork and head on to Clanwilliam. This road follows the river and the gravel is good, so back up to speed again. Just whatch out for the 90 degree turns that pop up every now again
Dam wall, dam is quite full at the moment.
Only got to Clanwilliam at 1.30 pm, still had +-200 km until Loerisfontein. After much discussions with myself on the pros and cons of pushing on the little voice of reason said I should take a leisurely ride back home.
Just after Citrusdal is the Piekernierskloof pass, drop a couple of gears and let the fun start....but half way up had to take some seriouse cage avoidence manuvers as there were parked cars all over the road. A bus had lost control coming down, thank goodness no one was hurt as the bus was full of school kids. The office was kind enough to let me ride under the chain and so it was off home again
Last smoke break before home, these geese were friendly
Home with the setting sun on the mountain. Time for nice cold beer.
Total dist 626 Km
just a couple more pics
Cheers
