I've never been pulled over.

But in the car, greet them friendly then when they start with their winding findings, I just tell to write the fine, I'll go and squash it. They are usually so pissed, they dont write the fine

I tell them that full size number plates catch on stuff and break off  when I ride off road and I would rather ride with a small plate than no plate. So far it has worked every time.

I've told this story before, but it's worth a repeat in case someone hasn't read it. about the guy from George who I met on the road one day with no plate on his bike.

When I mentioned it he showed me his mini plate stashed under his seat. He said that he'd been stopped by a cop that morning and the cop removed the plate with his knife. He handed it to the guy and said "You can't ride with this".  Then he got back into his car and buggered off!

fined R500 in Hermanus for smaller plate , cop car had smooth tyres and when it was pointed out to the cop was told that it was not his car but the councils so it was not his problem, sent the info to the prosecutor with photos , fine squashed , hope fully arrogant cont was reprimanded .

The cop no doubt knew, though it might not have been politic to remind him, that when caught driving an illegal vehicle it is the driver and not the owner who is responsible.  :deal:

Just before Lockdown I went to Botswana without a plate. A few questions and the plate in the top box having fallen off was accepted by SAP. No issues in Bots at the border or in the country.

Just remove your plates and fuckem!

There is a lot of logic there.
No plate:  The cannot prove in court that it did not accidentally fell off, i.e. they cannot show intent.
Small plate:  The proof of intent sits right there on the bike.

Wats the fine for half a numberplate? broken when hit by a chicken or melted away by exhaust gasses.

Fines all depend on the various cricumstances.  This chicken that hit the plate and broke it, was it a KF Chicken?

Okay....I’m riding without a plate until I get fined....anyone with me on this experiment. My last encounter with cops was a speedtrap. Must have been over 180 in 80 zone, did not stop. Been sometime now and no summons. I would have been more comfortable without that number plate!!

you can slso change your address to your street address next time you renew your licence and ride with a legal plate. The postoffice dont deliver to street addresses here in KZN.  :imaposer:
