Another newbie question (going to shops, malls?)
« on: July 10, 2020, 11:09:05 am »
I was thinking o myself, to save fuel i can go to places, not just joyride my little 125.
Ie.. go to the shops ! Mainly for groceries.

But is this a good idea. ?

Do you guys do it ?

The main thing i always hear is people riding bikes going to shops is ALWAYS concerned about the bike being stolen.

So what to do ? Steering lock not enough ?

Then Will i get banned from pick n pay if i park my bike in front or at least close to the entrance on the walkway ?
(i've seen a guy with a scooter done that the other day)

I've also seen a guy with a shiny new ninja 250 park in the "walkway" the other day.
But i'm worried i'll get banned or chased away by management there if i do so ?

You are concerned what other people think?
You are worried you might get banned?

+1

Hand back your bike, put your mask on and stay at home. Stay safe.

I would say park were and how you want to until you get told otherwise and then act as if you had no idea. If there is no bike parking available then you just tell them that you did not see bike parking and did not want to take up a car's parking just for a bike. There are many ways to skin a cat.

Clearly not going for a bulk shop if you going on the bike.

And if you worried about your bike being stolen, then don't go for coffee at the mall with your friend or go to the pub for that one beer with your mates.

Your bike could get stolen from out of your garage.

Sell your bike and get a minivan.

'Specially before and after skinning the cat.  :deal:

For myself there are situations where I won't park my bike and leave it unattended. Other places I try to park where I can see it, like on a breakfast ride. Or maybe if there's a genuine responsible type of parking guard I'll ask him/her to keep a good eye on my bike. And sometimes I just have to take a chance.

No insurance, you see.  :(
