Decided to build a small screen that would go with the new Trailtech X2 headlights.
http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=51592.0So I bought 2 pieces of Polycarbonate which I had cut to size, for the princely sum of R65.
I decided to echo the shape of the headlight surround - straight sides or slight angled would have looked shitty.

I drilled a series of overlapping 6mm holes in a semi circle, then filed the cutout smooth. This was for the headlight as I wasn't sure what height I wanted the windshield to be. With the cutout, I would be able to lower it by 40mm.

Then out with the heat gun and carefully heated and bent the shield. This took at least 20 mins as I did not want to overheat and bubble the Polycarbonate.

Then it was a simple matter of marking the mounting holes and drilling them and fitting with S/S bolts and nuts. Here you can also see the semi circular cut-out for the headlight . Yes, I know the one bolt is too long!

The finished product. Yes, I will replace the 2 upper socket heads with round heads!
Took it for a spin - works pretty well. No helmet buffeting and it keeps the wind off me up to about neck level.

From a distance. Not too shabby for R48 (incl botls and nuts)!
