I may be burned at the stake for saying this but I don't know if I want any more power from it.
I was popping the front up just trying to ride up Wuperthal. I Just need some case savers and a tank. Maybe some handguards for the next time gravity is on again.

I need more power out of the DRZS. At this point its slow and feels a little bit stronger than the XR125. (thank the XR650R for that)

Whats the easiest way to get some good power from it? Anything with a little bit more torque is welcome.

Get a large header pipe and jet accordingly.

The standard header pipes are ridiculously thin and create a bottleneck.

The FCR carb also makes a moera big difference

Does suzuki still sell DRZs? I don't see any on the SuzukiSA site?

There are still very few new ones around at dealers but they are no longer in production..

Flat slide carb and bigger header pipe will do the trick. I am not aware of any after market systems that work well so the guys that have them should be able to give more info.
These bikes are not anywhere near the 450 enduro and MX bikes in terms of performance, in standard form but a few small but unfortunately expensive mods can transform them..

Getting off a more powerful bike on to the DRZ could create the misconception that it is way underpowered but ride it often and you soon realize that they are not all bad.. The good in them outweighs most of their bad points. A little bit of fettling and you can change them without too much fuss to meet your needs

My S had the following for go-faster stuffs

FCR MX 39
Full Yoshi RS2
440 Big Bore Kit
Open airbox (top & side)

It made 46-47bhp (at wheel) on Wrench's dyno

Let's just say it was "rather lively"

But its probably cheaper to just buy a faster bike to start off with?

Yeah probably... But admit it, great little allrounder, if you don't have intentions of circumnavigating the globe in a week...

even after riding my SE or my WR, I still enjoy playing with my one...

My motard had similar mods,so the big bore made a huge difference as yours was a fair bit quicker than mine.
Mine had full Arrows system,3x3 air box mod, fr39 MX .

Hey Hedley did you ever get to use that stock carb I gave you?

XR going well. Also still siting with straw thin headers. But have big boys waiting to go on. Will do so soon. Will help the fcr41 to do it's thing.

Ridiculous, XR250R, 400R, 600R & 650L all have the same size header pipes! WTF!

Yeah, still got it.. Edgy seemed interested in it at one stage but I think it's too small for his 650...
