I've joined the DRZ400 club, what an awesome D/S. 2005 model E.

Mine rides like a bomb starts easy but doesn't idle lekker. The revs vary while idling.
Coming to a stop the revs stay high and slowly drops to idle, then climbs again and lowers without
touching the throttle.

Any ideas?

Sorry Herms, Im not the most technically minded of okes, but it seems you have a carb issue... leaking inlet rubber? dirty jets? etc... Maybe Runner or someone else might be able to assist properly...

Rovrat, jy is welkom om myne te ry. Ons moes dit eintlik op die Noob ride gedoen het, maar nou ja...

You have either a lean pilot circuit or an air leak, probably the pilot circuit, richen the air screw
by turning it out. Start with a half a turn at a time, should sort it!

Wrench, Flat spot on the highveld? With the 3x3 snorkel mod? What would sort that out?

LX, did you re-jet accordingly after doing 3x3 mod?

If not, thats the problem.

If you did, then Wrench will know more...

You probably need a lekker dyno tune...

It is hard to say but either too small pilot jet but i am thinking too large main jet. Ride the bike around to warm it up properly. Remove the airbox door and see if it rides better. I fit does your mai jet is too large. Give it a shot and let us know.
