@ChrisL - DUSTRIDERS Ek is nie so erg oor daardie wiele nie. Maar die een DR is wel 'n "dedicated commuter"

@chopperpilot 'n paar...  8)

In 2008 I bought a new DR650 and pretty much rode it around around SA (50 000km) when I got the chance - mostly solo. Last year I traded it on on a 1200GSA and did one or two trips to Natal and CT. The BMW really was a nice bike but I did miss the "go anywhere" nature of the DR. Anyway, a friend of mine had a DR650 with 5 000km on the clock which he also bought new so I asked him if he would like to swap bikes. To my surprise he agreed so once again I have a DR - do not think I will ever get rid of it again.

But I digress. The DR I now have had a SW Motech centre stand which I took off as I pretty have my own way of taking tyres off using just the side stand. If anyone would like it you are welcome to it - just reply on this thread. I really do not feel like posting it so would prefer if someone from Gauteng takes it or gets a mate who stays here to come and pick it up. I also have a Cowley exhaust, with the mid pipe, that I want to get rid of as well. It is loud! Also have an almost new titanium GSXR exhaust (very light) that I do not want. It is not the one that most people use on a DR but a slightly bigger one. And if you would like any of this just reply as in a week or two or it is going to be gotten rid of.

Whilst here thought I would take a moerse chance and see if there is anyone who has a "Screens for Bikes" screen (tinted) or a standard aftermarket (Sargeant or Corbin) seat for sale. Highly unlikely but worth a try!  :)

Hi Rob,
I would really appreciate getting the centre stand from you.
I have one or two people in Gauteng who could fetch it for me.
I will send you a PM.
Thank you

Aftermarket seats are unheard of in SA. Even stock 2nd hand are super scarce.

Eikeboom on here, once made a good and affordable screen for the DR, similar to the imported screens for bikes.

There is also a generic combined fairing and screen that fits on both DRs and XRs. I don't really like the look - can't get it in purple - but it's better than the BMW XChallenge screen the Gent is currently sporting.

Purple Gentleman, with the BMW screen, and Blue, a.k.a. "the new bike with the blue seat" because although a 2009 DR650, it must still reach 5,000 km. Gent is a 2014 model but a veteran of about 55,000 km. You can see which one gets to do most gravel :biggrin:

Blue with the screen that Eikeboom can arrange.
