KTM 390 Adventure?

Ok.... Looking at a lighter bike in the 400 - 500 range.

So far the closest would be the 390 Adventure... Let's have your comments please?

I've ridden the Honda crf Rallye and was impressed.... Just felt a little underpowered.
My CRF230 is more responsive.
Not interested in the baby beemer.....
The fuel range on the KTM seems better as well as top end.
Still would like to try the versus 300 as well.

What type of riding ? The Versus is a small twin so it’s going to need more revs than a 390. Open sections it should be good but I would take a 390 single before the Versys. If only they put some spoked wheels on the 390 Adv

I've watched some videos of the 390 launch in India, and the alloy rims did some real pounding over rocks without apparent damage... Are spoked rims really better?... Apart from being able to bang them into shape again.

On a side note, and having only SAT on it recently, I do think it is streets ahead of the BMW 310, so much so that it feels in a different class, I was impressed by it(the KTM 390).

Felt like a bigger bike...
Cheers

Watch Jimmy Lewis 390 videos, he mentions rim damage.

I think Zontes also makes a 300? But in my view, the best light adv bike is still a DRZ400. If you can find a clean low milage one.

Tommy for the the riding you will be doing and 90% of the riding the rest of us do the cast rims will not be a problem at all. I tested rode all the 300+ cc bikes and the KTM is the better bike with the Versys second and only because I found the seat very uncomfortable and it didnt have the low down poke of the 390(Needs to be revved to get going). That 390 is as smooth as a twin and runs like a train.

I said I would buy one when Brad Binder won his first race  :peepwall:

Wait for The KTM 490 Adv / Husky 501 to be released, this is likely to be another popular saleshit like the 790 is!
