A comfortable chair.

Trail snacks.

Time to enjoy the ride. No deadlines or commitments.

I have this R 17.00 jobby that my fiancé got off WISH quite a while ago.

The battery lasts about 5 hours and takes about 25 minutes to charge.

They also work as an earplug for the wind noise.

From my point of view I read this as what do I take over and above what’s on the bike at all times.

On the bike:
1. GPS permanently mounted
2. Tyre repair kit, permanently stowed
3. Handlebar Bag: contains visor wipes, sunglasses and manual tyre pressure gauge.
4. Tailpack/Topbox: Basic tools, compressor, epoxy, cable ties, duct tape, insulation tape, radiator hose tape, tow strap, beadbreaker tyre levers and leatherman multitool.
5. Phone: Has all my music to play via BT headset.

Now if I’m going further than the shops I’ll add:
1. Hydration pack
2. Basic first aid kit

The above is the same whether I do single day or extended trips. Longer trips require some clothing and toiletries to be added and sometimes camping gear which consists of small tent, sleeping bag and lightweight chair.

My nice to have item, not always on the bike, is a very fast Primus hiking stove for a fresh cup of coffee. It boils water for two cups in a minute.

Time

Now this hits home!!

The real pain is the ass issue for me.  Time....

With work, wife, and kids... mission to find time.

I took a solo drive the other day (August) to Rusterburg to see my sister's newborn.  Before that was last year September to GS Trophy event in Dullstroom   :lamer:
