Importing a bike into south africa
« on: September 28, 2020, 07:09:38 am »
Greetings dogs,

Does anyone have any experience importing a bike into South Africa? I have only ever exported. No idea where to even start🤣
The bike is coming from Dubai and will be offloaded in Durban.

When the bike was exported from Doo-Bye, the export focuments would have to nominate both a consignee (the one taking receipt) and a clearing agent (the one who was going to take receipt of paperwork and get the cargo through customs).
The latter is the person or party you need to get hold of. They will inform you about the balance of the process although you should be now know who that party is as normally, you are asked to nominate them.

My shipping and clearing agents did all the paper work for me, end to end and also from Dubai.

I paid all duties etc through them, and they delivered to my home.
That was a while back unless the regs have changed.

What bike are you bringing in and make sure you have all original and "birth certificate factory papers" if new.

Good luck...  :thumleft:
