Games up. I see that it is going to be the KLX300 engine with the KLX running gear as a road legal machine. Looks like it still has the 250's 7l tank and thousand year old LCD display. Bit under $9000AUD puts it in with the DRZ and DR650 but not much else.
The dog that caught the car. What now?

That sucks! No new KLR, only a baby KLX and some AI shit that would interest gamer dudes. Nothing for "real" bikers.

KHI is also spinning off the motorcycle division as a separate company. Is this the end of Kawa bikes?

There's another launch on 26 Jan, but the back row looks like side-by-sides and yet more soopa bikes.

Don't look back, that's not where you're going.

:thumleft: kawasaki will always be my go to brand where possible. a dirt bike should be green, finished an klaar.  :ricky: 300/400cc just makes sense to me personally, I always seem to have a better time on a small bike, more sincere respect for power.

At the very end of their 2021 launch video. Kawasaki state that some new models will only be announced in Jan 2021.
One of which is the rumoured KLR replacement, which can be seen under wraps at the end of the video (32:20)

Again? FFS did they not learn the lesson first time round?

Have some faith guys.

There are more reveals to come.
With the Honda CRF300 possibility it looks to be a very promising time for future lightweight adv and dual sports  :ricky:
So much to do, so little time. Better get going then!

Nope - only developed bikes together, never had any cross ownership.
The three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40 and a hammer.  If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.  If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.  Otherwise use the hammer.

Typical Kawa, a piece will fall off.
Quick, sell them some Locktite.

The chinese bike manufacturers copied "pieces falling off" very well on their bikes!! ;) :lol8:

There was some issue between 2001 and 2004 as I recall. That reference also seems to have been taken down from WIKI. ;)
The current move seems to make sense as the Motorcycle division will be an independent entity it seems.

Not so much cross developing as sharing models , for example the DRZ400 also became a KLX400 , the KX65 also became an RM65 , and similar situation with other models .

It seems Honda is the only one serious about developing small DS bikes from the land of the rising sun

Lots , not on the enduro side though , numerous toad racing championships as well as success in USA off-road and MX racing .
I have a feeling we could see a rejuvenated Kawasaki now that they have separated from KHI
