I find the twisty turny tweespoor footage in this race a lot more exciting than the loooong straight sand dune sections of the dakar races.
Great news, my book 'Sniffer' has seen the light of day on Amazon Kindle!

The Dakar is boring, it's just the stretched-out toughness needed to finish it that sort of make it interesting. Like a marathon tennis game.

Dakar, to me, is the off-road equivalent of the old Daytone 200, round and round and round.

I don't know what dakar you watched last year. There was tons of this sort of twee spoor.
- you reckon that thing will pop a wheelie? We're about to find out, SLAP that pig!

Made even more exciting being recorded with such skill from those amazing drone pilots.

Yeah agreed. Or easier in certain sections.
Also believe this is used as a live test session. Which sucks a bit for Gas Gas with Laia out. I think they need the track time.

Yes this Rallye is being used as a final test before 2021. They are following the same approach with the airbag vests for the bikers.

I wonder - with only a few stages, nursing the bike may not be of such high importance as in Dakar? If so, then the pace must be hot, and Ross taking a stage is phenomenal testimony of his capability.  I'm quietly rooting like hell for him to get a Dakar podium 2021. Now running regularly with the top dogs must boost his experience and self-confidence a lot.  And knowing you can do it, is so important, because doubt is a killer.
