That's because you see the 790.
The 790 will be discontinued, just like the 1190 was - short production run and then released 1090 and 1290

I foresee a 290 adv, 490 adv, 690 Single, 890 etc. Have seen rumours about the 290 on the web

One has to wonder whether a relatively small company like KTM would be able to carry parts for this staggering model line-up.

Apparently the standard 890 will debut in a weeks time, really really hope they give it a suspension upgrade.

Are you kidding? .................................. KTM is a massive parts company that occasionally makes a bike.

Another orange piece of dog shit from the Ready to Fail company.  Even the 1290's have been more reliable than the plagued with issues 790 series.

Now, the 790 is worthless, literally.  Who will want the little girls 790 when they can get the 890.......

It is better than most. I personally wanted some adjustability on the suspension

Its easy to be best in class when there is only one other bike in the class....

If one wants a bike with suspension, one does not buy a bike with suspension components from  White Power B.V.

The only thing I like about their junk is the name.

Don't know who said it was best in class (link?) but certainly wasn't me. The suspension has been it's biggest drawback, give it some adjustability and it would have tempted me when it first came out. Goodness even the 390 has more adjustments. And yes I could've got the R and shortened the suspension (I want the bike for my vrou to join me, and the R is just a bit tall for that, and the pillion seat not so nice) but I have plastic bikes for that. The 890 standard with decent legs would be a good fit.
And yes I could wait for the Norden (which will be in between the R and Standard in terms of height/travel) but its too long away to be released, only end 2021 is a long wait. Pity, prefer the styling.
So KTM put some proper forks and shock on the standard and you've got a sale.
