It has been quite obvious KTM's 790 has been an absolute failure and why KTM's answer is to introduce an 890 to deflect attention away from probably the most problematic bike they've ever engineered.

Here's a thread to warn folks of just what a piece of orange dog shit the bike is, with examples readily available on the internet of what real world issues owners are having.

Some issues are downright deadly and in my opinion, the USA should enforce an immediate stop sale on KTM's junk heap.

Here are just some of the issues that plague these bikes:

1.  Brakes locking up, yes you read that right, through no fault of the rider, the rear and front brakes can lock up with no warning.  Once can depress the front or rear brake lever, then release, and the system is still pressurized.  Some riders have reported bikes skidding to a stop with no pressure on either lever.

2.  Clutch failures.  Clutches are going out on these bikes with as low of mileage as 3,000 miles.  This has caused many other issues.  Bikes will not move because the clutch won't release.  Some bikes will start, but will not go into gear.  Some won't start because the sensors are reading the bike is in gear because the clutch system is failing.

3.  Sidestand switches are problematic.

4.  Headlights are inadequate for nighttime riding.

5.  Dash failures.  Some dashes have condensation build up, others will not work at all.  They're not cheap to replace if out of warranty.

6.  Countershaft seal system is poorly designed, the bikes are prone to leak oil at the seal.

7.  The rear exhaust header cooks the rear shock seals, thus the shock can fail without any notice.  How would you like to be riding at 100-120kph when your shock blows?

8.  Fuel lines are poorly routed, they rub on engine cases, petrol spewing on hot exhaust or engine, you know the rest.

9.  The front brake line can pinch and hole, leaving you without a front brake while riding.

10.  Oil leaks at multiple points around the engine.

11.  Coolant leaks at multiple points around the engine.

12.  Shock mounting threads are of poor design.

13.  Warped front rotors.
Beware, there are thousands of riders around the world trying to unload these junk heaps on unsuspecting buyers.

Do all the bikes have issues, no, though an outrageously high percentage of them do.
