Seven 'well matured' individuals, six non-WD's and myself rode through from Patensie end on Sunday, staying over at Makkedaat caves and returning on Monday.
Much has been said about the recent rehabilitation exercise. The most noticeable thing being that the enormous hole at the start of Smitskraal is no longer there. The drift itself is virtually dry, there is more water in some of the other drifts. Otherwise some of the corrugations in the road have been filled with loose material which makes it maybe somewhat less bumpy, but definitely more 'oopsy'.
But Oh! the lousy broken up concrete twee-spoor on Combrinks pass! No problem maybe to the young and skilled, but a nightmare to most of us especially since we encountered traffic coming the other way.
Won't mention about any individual 'offs', in that regard what happens in Baviaans stays in Baviaans. Still feeling a little battered, but we enjoyed ourselves. :biggrin:
