;) :peepwall: :lol8:
Daai kamele by Wilgewandel is faktap gery na n reŽnerige dag teen die kus!!! :P ;) :lol8:

Dai kamele is nader an my as aan die see. 95km

I'd suggest a place north of Port Shepstone but not too far.

Anyway you can do a lot worse than our Hibiscus Coast wrt value, weather and quality of life.

Sorry to hear, like P Edward and surrounds. Also at the gate to the wild coast. Whats it like living there?  Costs?
[/quote]

Ag, it's kak.

No really, it's cheap as chips to buy.

Rates are expensive for what you get but the weather is great and it's pretty quiet out of season.

The local private hospitals like Shelly Beach aren't too shabby either.

My Boet lives in Twini just across the river from Sheppy, also says the mislikepaliteit is becoming a joke.
Plus he has had 5 washing machines and I still have my original, same goes with most metal household objects, one must factor this in as well.
He has also spent far more than I have on general upkeep on his house, wood rot, rust etc.

I'm in Tweni and my washing machine is 29 yrs old after being here more than 22 years.

Upkeep is constant but we bought 2km inland with this in mind.

Ok looks like this is on the cards, I am just waiting for fin year end and restructuring. I would have to be within striking range from Stellenbosch plus it would be nice to be relatively close to Durbanville and Paarl where we have family.

@ClimbingTurtle what's wrong with Fish Hoek? I have very fond memories of my childhood holidays there and still go for a drive through and stop at Brass Bell every time I am in CT.

Yzerfontein  it is then

+1...
Yzerfontein, Simons town Fish Hoek, in that order, imo...
@Dwerg  - I grew up there, was a pretty damn fine place to grow up, make no mistake, beaches, mountains, small town, it was pretty much as good as you can get.
But FH now seems a little grubby, run down, crowded, ill-maintained and expensive. My mom just emigrated back to the UK, she lived in my sisters house in Sunnydale (sort of between FH and Noordhoek, next to Sun Valley), she moved back to FH about 10 years ago from Montegu (better hospital, my step-dad was poorly) and in the end she said it was just going down the drain - the whole infrastructure, council, everything had no ambition to improve.....
Anyway, thats my perception....
And traffic in the mornings and afternoons trying to get in or out of FH is a nightmare - Simonstown is even worse - but then I hate traffic....

Party mense hou daarvan, party mense cope nie.

Vriend van my had n huis daar gehad.

OK - striking distance of Stellies - from FH in traffic, thats probably most of 2 hours, one way, and more from ST..... There is essentially only 2 roads in & out of the peninsula, (not counting Chapmans Peak), and the Naval Base makes sure the roads are kept full. If you need to be in Stellies, look in that direction and away from the coast - Gordons Bay, Somerset West (less wind here as well), or if you must be at the beach, Rooiels, Pringle Bay maybe? The road network in T was designed for half the traffic there is there now, just be aware!
