Valkerie, there's a good ISP in that area named Rapid Networks. I was looking at building a home in Brittania Bay which is next to St Helena a while back , was very surprised at the plot pricing, you can pick up roughly 400 squares for R200k, see link below.

https://www.property24.com/vacant-land-for-sale/britannia-bay/st-helena-bay/western-cape/7977?sp=pt%3d250000

Just note that most of these plots are in "estate" developments, with accompanying rules and levies.

What are the options between Knysna and PE?

No sane  person moves to Knysna unless you miss rich arse Vaalies

PE is not too expensive and has its monents. It is not a small town, though

Jeffries baai. Lekker place but very windy.
Humansdorp. Bit of a dump nowadays

Plett. Worse than Knysna

The are numerous smaller coastal places that you can search for. Not all are towns though.

Buffelsbaai is very very nice. You shop at Plett and go home to peace and quiet

I have broken my search down to 3 areas

Knysna to PE
PE to Kei river mouth
Around Port Edward

Smaller less busy seaside towns, with decent internet connectivity. Low overheads like rates and taxes, land prices, etc. Would prefer to build rather than buy.

Be aware that local municipalities use coastal towns as cash cows and milk them for rates and taxes to get money for the politically correct communities.

Compare. Stilbaai where we pay around 2.5k per month for a house before it is occupied and any services consumed.

Prince Albert. R800 per month.

So go ahead and find your pozzie, but do proper research on municipal rates.

There is no location in or near Yzerfontein!!!!

Iíve travelled a bit and seen most of the options but being on holiday and living there are two different things hence the thread

Very true this. My father retired to Stilbaai when it was still a small place. Was comfortable at first, but over time the increasingly high rates and taxes destroyed his pension rands. Rather stay a little distance inland from the sea.
