Yip, our aim is to be done with it by year end but will realistically be done by 2nd quarter next year. We currently have 105k clients on wireless which took us many years to attain, we want to get the same number on fibre in one year.
It's the end of the road as we know it and I feel fine.

Yip, as mentioned in the article, most ISPs supply services over 3rd party fibre infrastructure like VOX running on Frogfoot, we build our own fibre and supply our own services over it, this results in quicker fault resolution and lower cost, a winning and popular formula. We have built over VUMA and Frogfoot and are poaching their clients quite easily.
It's the end of the road as we know it and I feel fine.

Sorry for the Hijack Dwerg, we're doing this nationally, this article was just for WC. @McSack, PM me your location and I'll see what the plans are there.

Jirre, but you guys are obsessed with the WC. Was in George, Knysna etc two weekends ago. Might as well be in Pretoria or JHB - everyone on top of one another. Cape Town is not any better. Just think WC is overated - not bad, but way overated.

like VOX running on Frogfoot,
You do know VOX owns Frogfoot right? Same thing.

Yebo, both ex clients of mine, spent quite a bit of time with Abraham and Jacques - the respective CEOs, I designed wireless solutions for interim use during their fibre rollout, they're still two different operational and cost entities so savings etc. don't filter downward, not yet anyway.

No worries, this thread was in large part started to highlight small towns with good internet so no hijack

@Operator I don't see any mention of your town?

We have someone coming to look at our house next week for potential short term and furnished lease. Will make the initial rent and discovery phase A LOT easier because we basically leave with our dogs and what fits in the boot

Well we're holding thumbs because that will make it so easy and non-committal. We have a friend who's going through a divorce who might want our place for 3 months until she finds her feet. I don't have the stomach to deal with tenants otherwise

Soveel so, ons noem dit sommer Pretoriaville

:pot:

mag dit altyd tog so bly....

Durbanville imo is for young families, housing is reasonably priced and there are many really good relatively cheap schools in the area, for that reason, I'd stay away if not raising little ones - traffic + school noise etc.
It's the end of the road as we know it and I feel fine.
