So everyone asks me: "What happend?"
Here goes my story:
Friends of us asked us earlier this year to go on a motorcycle tour with them, “Stars & Dust”, to the Northern Cape, Kenhardt and specifically Verneukpan. We declined, due to Lelani's (our youngest) 20th and Zander's 21st birthday.
Dr Jacques Koning, who planned the tour, described it this way on the Facebook Events page, more than 3 months prior to the trip:
This trip was initially scheduled to have taken place in April '2020. Yet '2020 taught us that life is filled with contrast and unpredictability. Laughter competes with tears. The yearning to enjoy freedom outside sometimes require us to hide inside from danger. Struggles are not always rewarded by triumph and jubilation not always handicapped by suffering. But we also realized that life goes on. Life is wonderful. Through the combination miracle and tragedy we are brought together. Become human and part of humanity.
This trip is a celebration of all those lessons we've learned from life. We want our old friends to help us grow and need new friends to keep us young. During this occasion we will honour and commemorate life and those who have helped us to focus on the light during our darkest times.
