Anodising of rims
« on: November 24, 2020, 08:18:18 am »
Morning All

Can any of you dogs recommend a service provider where I can have rims anodised in Pretoria or the bigger Gauteng area? I will have to send and collect it by courier.

Thanx. Have a good day.

Controlled Surface Treatments - 240 Brakpan Road in Boksburg Industrial, off of Van Dyk Road (Atlas Road extension) - 011-14-1356
I took a rim there a while back and they can dip, clean and anodize - in fact they acid washed my rim while I waited, free of charge...

Keep in mind that anodizing is very thin.
If there is any pitting, it will still show.

+1.

Preparation is key for a nice finish.

Scothbrite etc. works well.

Lots of elbow grease!

And that was why I didnt take it further - the rims were not good enough to coat and also look good - so I just polished them.....
