Think I need to do that rattle can mission. My Rumbux is also a little dinged up. My riding skill makes the product look bad. I actualy saw one of the naps caused a problem where the back bars connect under the seat on my AT. Anyone here had the same yet with a possible fix? Suspect it is that plastic OEM rack that didn't make the cut

Protection for the protection I should have thought of that.

If you see the price of new crash bars you will understand  8)

I see the GS guys here have some sort of thick tape they wrap around the sensitive spots.

Wrap the bars with stick tape (ASK for Ice & Inline hockey stick tape).

Extremely though and abrasive resistant. Comes in black & white.

Easily removable and not that expensive.

This, or cycling handlebar tape as well. I think you get more in a roll than you do with hockey/tennis racquet tape.
Or, if you really want to add protection take a road bicycle inner tube and wrap that around the crashbar - gets use that way to protect the bicycle chainstay from getting wacked with a chain, so it'll take some knocks.

In the event of a slide on tar, only the Nylon/Teflon? sliders will work, the tape will just rub through in a millisecond.

Nooit ous, cut Edgar some slack - I'm sure he doesn't want to protect his bars from serious crashes, but more for the inevitable unintended drop - nobody wants to admit to scratches for forgetting to put the sidestand out, or slipping on oil or sand when stopping

Thanks! Yes like I stated, I am pedantic when it comes to my bike, so if I scratch my crashbars I would have to have them powdercoated again and I would like to avoid that.  :thumleft:
