Before yesterday I had a saying, "Too much power is just enough", BUT I got scared shitless yesterday and I do think that you get something like too much power..
MEET THE BRAND NEW TRIUMPH ROCKET 3 ROADSTER 2500cc
I took my scrambler XE1200 for a service yesterday and Triumph Sandton just received their demo Rocket 3. I had a go on it and it was f@... insane.
I owned/rode a lot of powerful bikes in my life including Hayabusa, 1190R, 1290R, Yamaha R1, Suzuki GSXR1000 etc but nothing compares close to this beast. I am willing to dare say that this machine pulls harder in 4th gear than a KTM 1290R in 1st. The power is just everywhere. Triumph tested the bike with a 0-100km/h of 2.73 seconds and the thing is it pulls alot harder from 60-160km/h than from 0-100km/h. I tapped off on 165km/h because I swear if I kept the throttle open the chances of blacking out is very real.
This new Rocket 3 is way more powerful than the previous one with capacity also bumped up from 2300cc to 2500cc and it weighs a staggering 40kg less.. :deal:
My 1200 XE scrambler (with similar acceleration than a 1200GS) felt totally weak when I rode home.. :spitcoffee:
